Trigger Point Dry Needling

Acupuncture is used in the treatment of muscloskeletal injuries, and is highly effective for relieving muscle pain and spasm following a sports injury, and improving circulation to tense or injured tissues. The combination of traditional acupuncture with the advanced dry needle technique (also known as intramuscular stimulation) is especially effective for acute tendon and ligament sprain/strains and chronic injuries which have been poorly responsive to other types of treatment.

We needle "acupuncture points" in Acupuncture, in Dry Needling, the trigger point is needled. The difference between the two different "points" are rather indistinct. Most of the trigger points happen to be where there is an acupuncture point located. Skillful palpatory diagnosis for point location is the key, and a premium needle technique used to unwind (muscle spindle & fascia) the point that is imbalanced is what produces a high success rate in my clinic for resolving pain almost immediately.

Acupuncture/Dry Needling and a consistent yoga practice can provide a serious competitive edge for athletes encompassing performance enhancement, pain reduction and injury recovery. This integrative approach can significantly speed recovery and reduce the chances of injury re-occurring.
